A univoltine species, flying from the end of April to mid-June or July (Stanisavljević, 2000). Matache & Ban (2006) state that the species will fly into July in Romania. Amiet et al. (2004) give a flight period in Switzerland from the end of March to mid-July
Parasites: Moeschler (1938) lists the bee Stelis phaeoptera as a cleptoparasite of this species.
