A univoltine species in northern Europe, but bivoltine in the south of its range flying from April to August: R.C.L. Perkins (1919g, 1923) describes this bee as being a univoltine spring species, with rare, stray examples of a second brood. However, there are numerous records of specimens collected in July and a few in August (including apparently freshly emerged specimens). It would therefore seem that at least a partial second brood is a regular occurrence, but perhaps only in the south. There is no obvious gap between these two presumed broods, the species flying from mid May to late July, and sometimes in August.
Dardón Peralta (2010) states that the species flies from March to August in the Iberian Peninsula
Parasites The bee Nomada flavoguttata is cited as a cleptoparasite of this species (Kirby, 1802; Söderman & Leinonen, 2003).
