Hoplitis (Alcidamea) leucomelana (Kirby, 1802)

A univoltine species; mid May to the end of August (Edwards & Else, 2018; Amiet et al., 2004). Stanisavljevic (2000) states June to August.

Parasites and predators: Stelis ornatula has been cited as a cleptoparasite of this species by Friese (1895b), Höppner (1904b), E. Stöckhert (1919), Jørgensen (1921), Enslin (1925),Bischoff (1927), Micheli (1935), and van der Zanden (1982). Other inquilines (listed by Enslin (1925)) are the cleptoparasitic sapygid wasp Sapyga quinquepunctata, the parasitoid chalcids Eurytoma nodularis and Melittobia acasta, and the following parasitoid ichneumonids: three species of Gambrus [as Kaltenbachia], three species of Aritranis [as Hoplocryptus] and two Mastrus species [as Cecidonomus]. Banaszak & Romasenko (1998) cite as cleptoparasites (in addition to Stelis ornatula), the bees Stelis breviuscula and S. minuta.
