A univoltine species, flying from late May to mid-September, and sometimes as late as November (Mavromoustakis, 1951; 1952). In Germany, the flight period is from mid-June to mid-August, and in Serbia it flies from June to August (Stanisavljević, 2000)
Parasites: The bee Stelis signata is cited as a cleptoparasite of this species (Mavromoustakis, 1951; Westrich, 1989; Banaszak & Romasenko, 1998; Amiet et al., 2004)
