Hylaeus (Prosopis) variegatus (FABRICIUS, 1798)

A partly bivoltine species. The flight period is from the end of June to the beginning of September.

Dathe (1980) recognises the subspecies Hylaeus variegatus coriaceus which is found in Mediterranean regions of Europe and north Africa.

Parasites: The gasteruptiid wasp Gasteruption hastator is cited as a parasite of this species (Pagliano & Scaramozzino, 1999)
