A univoltine species: late June to early September. In Spain it will fly from May to October (Ornosa & Ortiz-Sánchez, 2004)
Parasites and predators: This species is host to the cleptoparasitic bee Epeolus variegatus. Noskiewicz (1936)additionally cites E. cruciger.
2 males from the 1880's, apparently from Finland, (Oulu Museum) are almost certainly of foreign material. (Söderman & Leinonen, 2003).
