Andrena (Scitandrena) scita EVERSMANN, 1852

A univoltine species flying from May until early July, however Alfken (1914) suggested the existence of a second generation in southern Hungary, which flies from the end of July to August. It flies from April to June in Thessaly (Greece)(Standfuss et al., 2011).

Parasites: The cleptoparasite of Andrena scita is Nomada cruenta (Kocourek 1966).

Notes: Variable in colour. The Turkish and Greek Islands populations have many all-black specimens. In other parts of the range, the abdomens are well marked with red.
