Megachile (Chalicodoma) ericetorum Lepeletier, 1841

A univoltine species; from late May or early June to late August (April onwards in north Africa)(Westrich, 1989; Stanisavljević, 2000). Ortiz-Sanchez et al. (2012) give a flight period in Iberia from December to August.

Parasites and predators: Coelioxys aurolimbata is reported to be a cleptoparasite of this species on the Continent (F.K. Stöckhert, 1933; van der Zanden, 1982; Peeters, Raemakers & Smit, 1999), but it has not been found in Britain. Other inquilines recorded in the literature are a chalcid in the genus Leucospis (Ferton, 1896), and the clerid beetle Trichodes leucopsideus (Grandi, 1961).
