Lasioglossum (Hemihalictus) rufitarse (ZETTERSTEDT, 1838)

A univoltine species with an extended flight period. Females from early April (later in the mountains of central Europe) to the beginning of October, males from mid July to at least late August.

Parasites Morice (1889) discovered females of Nomada fabriciana apparently infesting the burrows of this species, and at this spot or nearby, he found a female Sphecodes ferruginatus.

F.K. Stöckhert (1933) cites the latter as a cleptoparasite of this species in Germany. Confirmation indicating that both these species are indeed cleptoparasites of L. rufitarse is very desirable.
