A bivoltine species in parts of its range. Apparently univoltine (see Guichard & Yarrow, 1948) in UK; from the end of April or May to late July (Else & Edwards, 2018). In Germany, the second brood flies from the beginning of July to the end of August (Westrich, 1989). Smit (2018) states that the species is found between March and August.
