A univoltine species; late May to the beginning of August (Stanisavljević, 2000)
Parasites and predators Numerous Coelioxys elongata have been observed flying with this species at Culbin Sands, Nairn (eastern Highland) (pers. obs.), and it seems very likely that this species is cleptoparasitic on Megachile circumcincta in that locality. Other Coelioxys associated with this species throughout its range are: C. elongata (E. Saunders, 1896a; Jørgensen, 1921; R.C.L. Perkins, 1924; Bischoff, 1927); C. mandibularis (Jørgensen, 1921; van der Zanden, 1982; Banaszak & Romasenko, 1998); C. quadridentata (Ferton, 1897; Jørgensen, 1921; Bischoff, 1927; van der Zanden, 1982; Westrich, 1983; Banaszak & Romasenko, 1998), and C. rufescens (R.C.L. Perkins, 1923; Hallett, 1928).
