Megachile (Macromegachile) nigriventris Schenck, 1870

A univoltine species, flying in the summer from June to August

Parasites: Banaszak & Romasenko (1989) and Celary (1995) stated that the bee Coelioxys lanceolata is the only known cleptoparasite of this species. Recent information from Westrich points out that C. lanceolata is the cleptoparasite in northern and central Europe (citing Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Austria, Germany and the Pyrenees). However, there is a suggestion that the broad-spectrum cleptoparasite Coelioxys elongata may also attack M. nigriventris, having been found around nesting sites of the host (Prosi, 1997).
