Stelis (Stelis) ornatula (Klug, 1808)

A univoltine species with a relatively long flight period, extending from April to September, with a peark from May to late August. Ornosa et al (2009) list records for January in Spain but these need confirmation.

Parasites and predators: M.E. Archer (pers. comm.) has reared the wasp Pteromalus apum (Chalcidae) from a cocoon of this bee found in a stem-nest of Hoplitis claviventris collected in Hampshire.

Kasparek (2015) lists the wasps Hoplocryptus confector and H. bellosus (Ichneumonidae) as parasitoids
