A univoltine species. In England specimens have been recorded from June to late August (Else & Edwards). On the continent the species is active from late May to the beginning of September (Peeters, Raemakers & Smit, 1999). Kasparek (2015) states that the main flight season is from June to August but occasionally as early as May and as late as September.
Matache & Ban (2006) report the earliest individuals in Apil in Romania. Baldock et al. (in prep.) report flight activity in May and June in the Balearic Islands (Spain).
