Melitta (Melitta) tricincta Kirby, 1802

A univoltine species: A late summer species, flying from the end of July to early September, the flight period being synchronised with the flowering of Odontites vernus.

Parasites and predators: Nomada flavopicta may be a cleptoparasite of this bee as it has been collected at a site where M. tricincta was common, but where both M. leporina and M. haemorrhoidalis (also putative hosts) were apparently absent.
