Melitta (Cilissa) haemorrhoidalis (FABRICIUS, 1775)

A univoltine species: from mid July to late August, occasionally September.

Parasites and predators: None reported from Britain, but on the continent, the bee Nomada flavopicta is a possible cleptoparasite (Tengö & Bergström, 1976), and this association may also exist in Britain. Michez (2004) also cites Nomada emarginata as a cleptoparasite of this species.
