Distribution; world
Europe; distributed from north-west Holland and Germany south to Iberia and Corsica, eastwards to Greece (the Peloponnese); throughout this range it is similarly associated with sandy soils (Ebmer, 1988). It is also reported from north Africa (Pesenko, Banaszak et al., 2000):
