Distribution; world
This is a western Palaearctic species, distributed from northern Europe (central Finland) south to Morocco, and eastwards to the Urals and eastern Iran (Ebmer, 1988). Southern sites within this range are all at high altitude. A distribution map for the species in the Palaearctic is provided by Ebmer & Sakagami (1985).:
