This species occurs in south and south-east Europe eastwrds to Asia Minor
This species was conditionally removed from the list of bees of the Czech Republic and Slovakia by Pridal (2003) in the absence of any reliable records or specimens. Only a single unreliable record of this species from the Slovakia exists: Pádr's card index lists: "SK: ≤túrovo, 26/05/1937, 1male, leg. Gregor". However, the record is probably based on a misidentification.:
