Distribution; world
The species is confined to the western Palaearctic (including Europe), the range extending from southern Sweden south to the Azores, the Canary Islands and the north Africa (Algerian Sahara - Hoggar Mountains), eastwards to Asia Minor and the Levant (Ebmer, 1988).:
