Distribution; world
An Holarctic species which occurs throughout much of Europe and the Paleararctic, from the British Isles to Siberia, central Iberia to east Bulgaria, and northwards to central Finland (Ebmer, 1988). It also occurs in north Africa. In North America, it ranges from Newfoundland south to New Jersey, and sporadically to Tennessee and Wisconsin (Ebmer, 1988):
