Europe and north Africa eastwards to Asia Minor and the Levant. sspp. canaria and columbina and lanzarotae are endemic to the Canary Islands, ssp. hebraea is widely distributed across north Africa eastwards to the Levant and the nominate form ranges across much of southern and central Europe :
