Widely distributed in central and southern Europe, from Holland (van der Vacate, 1928) and Poland south to Italy, and east to Romania and Turkey. The species also occurs in the Caucasus (Osychnjuk, 1977), Iran (Morice, 1921a), Japan (Hirashima, 1965) and North Africa (Morocco to at least Tunisia):
