Distribution; world
A boreo-montane species in Europe, widespread in Fennoscandia, more sporadic further south, reaching the Pyrenees and the Romanian Carpathians (Dylewska, 1987). The species is also known from Baikal (Kukujer, 1927) and Japan (Tadauchi, Hirashima & Matsumura, 1987a).

Abundance; world
Andrena lapponica is a very common species and it can be the dominant in suitable habitats. There is no evidence of a decline and so it is assumed that the populations are stable.
