Throughout central Europe (Gusenleitner and Schwarz 2002), but it is also known from the eastern regions of European Russia and the adjacent area of western Kazakhstan (unpublished data Osytshnjuk, V. Radchenko pers. comm. 2014).:

Abundance; world
A declining species. For example, until 2000 this species was known from 14 different localities in Slovenia, but in a recent survey it was not found anywhere in Slovenia (Gogala 2014). The species has experienced a strong long-term decline and a moderate short-term decline in Germany (Westrich et al. 2011). In other countries within its range, this species is known to be very rare.
