This species can be abundant in suitable locations in the Mediterranean biome. Although there is no detailed picture of the overall population strength, it is regularly recorded in ecological survey work in parts of its range (Attiki, Crete, Spain) and this suggests that the population is large.
There is no evidence of any decline in this species.
