Distribution; world
A Holarctic species. In Europe it is found mainly in the north, occurring from Swedish Lapland (Warncke, 1981) and northern Finland (Elfving, 1968), east to Turkey (Fahringer, 1922), and the former European U.S.S.R. (Dylewska, 1987). Widespread in the north, but it is rather sparsely distributed in central Europe. In North America it is found from Alaska to Ontario, Quebec, Massachusetts and Maine, south to Colorado, Minnesota and New York (Hurd in Krombein et. al. 1979).
