In Europe, the range of this species extends from former southern Finland (Elfving, 1968; cited as Andrena moravitzi Thomson) and Sweden, south to Spain and Corsica, and east to the Caucasus (Popov, 1954). It is also known from the Middle East : Israel (Warncke, 1939), Iran (Morice, 1921), and the Far East (Yasumatsu, 1974); also North Africa (Morocco and Algeria):

Although the species is widespread, it is generally scarce and very local (Falk 1991). Populations are presumed to be large, but there is no information available on the trend of this species, since most of the published records exceed 20 years in age.
