Distribution; world
In the Palaearctic the species is mainly confined to the north, its range extending from central Fennoscandia south and east across Europe to Belgium, Greece (Mt. Olympus), and Siberia (Warncke, 1988, who also provides a distribution map of the species), and Japan (Tadauchi in Tadauchi et al., 1989) (identification of latter species is apparently doubtful, D.B. Baker, pers. comm.).:
