Distribution; world
Very widely distributed in the western Palaearctic region (including Europe), from Fennoscandia south to Iberia and Corsica, east across Asia Minor and Asia to Siberia. It has also been reported from North Africa (F.K. Stöckhert, 1933; Warncke, 1974; Grunwaldt, 1976), Israel (Warncke, 1969), and Iran (Morice, 1921). The range includes southwestern Asia (Turkey, Iran, Israel), Central Asia (north Kazakhstan) and China (Osytshnjuk 1977, Dylewska 1987, Gusenleitner and Schwarz 2002, Kuhlmann et al. 2012, Rasmont et al. 2013, Ascher and Pickering 2014).
