Lasioglossum (Hemihalictus) rufitarse (ZETTERSTEDT, 1838)

Distribution; world
A Holarctic species. In the Palaearctic it is a typical boreo-alpine bee, distributed from Western Europe (the British Isles) east to Kamchatka, northwards to northern Finland; in the southern part of this range it is a montane species, occurring in the Pyrenees and the Caucasus Mountains. A world distribution map for this species is provided by Ebmer & Sakagami (1985). In the Nearctic it is found from Alaska to Labrador, south to Ontario and Michigan (Ebmer, 1988). Specimens have also been collected in Maine, California and Colorado (Ebmer in Ebmer & Sakagami, 1985). According to these two authors, there are apparently no morphological differences between the Palaearctic and Nearctic populations (Ebmer & Sakagami 1985):
