A species predominantly of central and southern Europe, with records from Holland (van der Vecht, 1928), France, Germany, and Austria, east to the former Czechoslovakia (Kocourek, 1966), Turkey (Warncke, 1974), and the western U.S.S.R. (Osychnjuk, 1977); also reported from Israel (Alfken, 1938).:
