In Europe the species is widely distributed, with records from Holland (van der Vecht, 1928), Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Austria, Hungary, southern Europe (Kocourek, 1966), the western U.S.S.R. (Caucasus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan)(Popov, 1954; Osychnjuk, 1977). The species is also known from North Africa (Nadig, 1933):

There are no precise details of the population size or trends. However, both the extent of occurrence (EOO) and the area of occupancy (AOO) are large and so it can be assumed that the overall population is large too.
