The species seems to be rather rare in Europe, but its range extends from Finland east to Siberia, and south to the Pyrenees, the Italian Alps (Dylewska, 1987) and Czechoslovakia (F.K. Stöckhert, 1933; Kocourek, 1966):

A rare species but precise details of its population size and trends are unknown. Although both the extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are large, the species is seldom recorded and the overall population size is believed to be small.
