Distribution; world
The species range extends from Scandinavia and Poland, south to Iberia, the Mediterranean islands and North Africa (Canary Islands, Algeria, Tunisia), and eastwards to Greece, European Russia, the Urals, Kazakhstan and Turkestan (Løken, 1973). Successfully introduced to New Zealand (Gurr, 1964).
