Distribution; world
In continental Europe this is a boreo-alpine species and, as in Britain, is mainly associated with coniferous forests. There are records from Sweden, Finland, the Netherlands (van der Zanden, 1982), Belgium (Leclercq, Gaspar & Verstraeten, 1982), Germany (Westrich, 1989), Austria, and the former Czechoslovakia (D.B. Baker, pers. comm.). The range extends to eastern Asia (Banaszak & Romasenko, 1998).:
