The species is found throughout the western Palaearctic, the range extending from Sweden (Aurivillius, 1903) and Denmark (Jørgensen, 1921), south across Europe to Spain and north Africa (Morocco), and east to Asia Minor, the Caucasus and central Asia (Iran) (D.B. Baker, pers. comm.):
