The distribution in Europe extends from southern Finland (Elfving, 1968) and Sweden, south to Spain and north Africa (F.K. Stöckhert, 1933; Warncke, 1981), east to the Caucasus (Banaszak & Romasenko, (1998).The bee is adventive in New York State (Eickwort, 1980).
