There is no information available on the population size or trend of this species. However, the European range of the species is quite large, covering Iberia and parts of France, and the number of specimens in museum collections suggests that the species is not particularly rare (S. Roberts pers. comm. 2014). It seems to be plentiful in suitable habitats and it is widespread through its range.
