Distribution; world
Southern Europe, where it long seemed to be confined to south western France and northern Spain and perhaps Italy. First recorded in Germany in 2016 (Westrich & Bülles 2016). Also known from north west Africa:
DE, ES, ES-BI, FR, IT, PT, DZ, TN

Abundance; world
According to the findings from some localities, the species is locally common (P. Bogusch pers. comm. 2014). Its host, Colletes hederae, is currently expanding its range. The population trend of this species is unknown.
