Distribution; world
It seems to be widely distributed in central and southern Europe, F.K. Stöckhert (1933) listing Germany, Switzerland, Austria, northern Spain, Hungary and Poland and eastwards into Asia Minor; it is also known from France and north Africa (Morocco). A distribution map of this species has been published by Warncke (1981), but he omits north African records. :
