Cleptoparasitic: Hosts. Bogusch (2005) states that Coelioxys alata is a cleptoparasite of two host species: Megachile ligniseca (Kirby, 1802) and Anthophora furcata (Panzer, 1798) (Celary 1989, Warncke 1992, Scheuchl 1996; Stanisavljević; 2000). Both host species nest in wood; the latter is the only wood-nesting species of that genus in Europe (Westrich 1990).
