Lasioglossum (Evylaeus) politum (Schenck, 1853)

Excavator: Ground. Nests are constructed in bare ground in sandy or loessic banks (Westrich, 1989), and can form large aggregations.

The species is eusocial with monogynous nest establishment and a strongly differntiated worker caste. The workers are probably responsible for the rearing of the males in the summer generation as well as the young gynes.
