Lasioglossum (Sphecodogastra) albipes (FABRICIUS, 1781)

Excavator: Ground. This bee often nests in small aggregations.

The species is reported by Knerer (1987) to be primitively eusocial, in common with its very close relative Lasioglossum calceatum. The nesting biology is discussed in detail in Pesenko, Banaszak et al. (2000).

Males often spend the night in clusters on vegetation.
