Excavator: Ground. A eusocial species which has similar social behaviour to Halictus subauratus. Its nest structure is also similar to that species (Knerer, 1987; Sakagami, 1974). However, in Japan, the species is considered to be solitary (Sakagami & Fukushima, 1961). Nests are figured by Sakagami (in Sakagami & Michener, 1962) and O’Toole and Raw (1991).
