Andrena (Taeniandrena) wilkella (KIRBY, 1802)

Excavator: Ground. This bee nests both solitarily (Chambers, 1949) or gregariously in hugh, compact aggregations (R.C.L. Perkins, 1919g).

On the Continent, the species is reported to nest solitarily (Meidell, 1967; Kocourek, 1966; Dylewska, 1987). The species apparently overwinters as a larva (prepupa?)(Meidell, 1967).Mests are constructed in sandy and clay soils (Kocourek 1966, Osytshnjuk 1977, Dylewska 1987, Peeters and Reemer 2003).
