Osmia (Hoplosmia) ligurica (MORAWITZ, 1868)

Renter: Existing cavities: The nests are built in 3–4 mm wide burrows in the pith of dead plant stems excavated by other aculeates (e.g. Ceratina) or hollow stems. Stems used include Artemisia, Foeniculum, Rubus, Scolymus (Müller, 2018).

Nesting material: The nests contain up to eight linearly arranged brood cells, which are separated from each other by partitions constructed from leaf mastic. Leaf mastic is also used to seal the nest at its opening. (Benoist, 1931; Friese, 1893; Grandi, 1961; Mavromoustakis, 1939; G. Le Goff, personal observation; A. Müller, personal observation; Müller, 2018).
