Renter: Snail shells of small to large size (e.g. Bulimus, Cerithium, Cernuella, Cochlicella, Eobania, Helicella, Otala, Rumina, Sphincterophila, Theba, Trochochlea) with up to 10 cells per shell; hollow stems (e.g. Phragmites). In Cyprus, Mavromoustakis (1952) notes that he found the species nesting in shells of Helicella protea larnacensis.
Nesting material: Cell partitions and nest plug are made of chewed leaves (e.g. of Convolvulus, Lavatera). Occasionally, small pebbles are incorporated into the leaf matrix of the nest plug. The closed shells are neither moved nor covered with patches of leaf pulp.
