Ceratina (Ceratina) cucurbitina (ROSSI, 1792)

Excavator: Stems. Nests in hollow plant stems. The majority of records show that this species favours nesting in Rubus stems (most notably Rubus ulmifolius)

In France, the species will also nest in stems of Daucus carota, Dipsacus sp., Euphorbia characias, Foeniculum vulgare, Sambucus nigra and Vitis vinifera.

In Greece, A.W. Ebmer observed a nest in a stem of Vitex sp.
