Andrena (Euandrena) bicolor FABRICIUS, 1775

Excavator: Ground. It is not usually a gregarious nester, but the burrows are normally difficult to locate. In both south-west Germany and eastern Europe, the species is reported to nest solitarily in bare soil (Westrich, 1989; Kocourek, 1966). Brood cells have been located at the extreme depth of 101 cm (Malyshev, 1936).
